Thank you for visiting my web site. I am the State Senator for the northwest side of Milwaukee, in the 6th Senate District.

I am maintaining this website as a means for constituents to contact me, and to be in touch with their state government. As your Senator, I look forward to hearing your views on current issues and working with you to identify and correct any problems that pertain to state government. I am proud to have represented our neighborhood in the State Legislature since 1983. In that time, I have been able to affect many changes to state law to help protect and better serve the people in the City of Milwaukee and State of Wisconsin. I was the author of a bill that established a statewide Lead Prevention Program. As a former city health inspector, this was an issue that I was intimately familiar with. In addition, I was responsible for the funding for the program that is now known as BadgerCare, a program that helps to provide prescription drugs for uninsured and underinsured residents in Wisconsin. I am also responsible for the law that established minority contractor hiring guidelines for state government. Added to that is my work in guaranteeing Disadvantaged Business Enterprises contracts for the Miller Park, Midwest Airlines Center, and Marquette Interchange construction projects.
