Jackson Park Business Association

Mission & Goals
MISSION:
To establish a collaborative network among area businesses and organizations in an effort to increase the economic strength of the business community and enhance the quality of life for individuals living and working in the Jackson Park Neighborhood.
GOALS:
Create a united voice in promoting and improving the business climate.
Secure resources for improvement projects to enhance the appearances of businesses.
Create a commercial district identity, market the business district, and recruit new businesses into the area.
Develop a strong working relationship with city, county, and state officials.
Extend an invitation to public officials to be partners in this endeavor and guests of the association.

Priorities

The priorities of the Jackson Park Business Association for 2003-04 are to:
  • Become incorporated as an association.
  • Increase membership to create a more united voice from the business district.
  • Focus on traffic flow in the area of South 43rd and Oklahoma, and create a plan with government officials to improve streets, traffic patterns, and street signs.
  • Learn about, and make use of, resources and funding for local businesses.

Benefits of Membership

As a member you will have the opportunity to do the following:

  • Make a difference in your business and in the neighborhood by networking and collaborating with other business owners.
  • Have a voice in local decisions and influence improvements (e.g. street design, traffic patterns, crime concerns, etc.).
  • Learn about funding and available resources for improvement projects (e.g. Business Improvement Districts, Streetscaping, Façade Grant, Main Street Program).
  • Participate in special events and workshops offered by the association (e.g. Crime Prevention, Business Development).
  • Participate in membership meetings, serve on committees devoted to improving the area, and receive minutes of the meetings.
  • Support the Jackson Park Neighborhood Association.

Business Member annual dues: $60
Community Member annual dues: $15
 

Meeting Schedule:
The association meets the 3rd Monday of each month, from 6:30-8:30pm at North Shore Bank (corner of 43rd and Oklahoma).
